Profit "proof" is easier to fake than most people think. Here are the tricks you'll actually run into, and how to check for each.

1. Showing only the winning account

  • Run the same EA on 10 accounts with different settings, then publish only the survivor.
  • Check: ask "Are there other accounts running this EA?" and compare the account's start date with the EA's launch date.

2. Demo passed off as real

  • Demo has almost no slippage, so results look much better.
  • Check: is the account type (Real/Demo) confirmed on a third-party tracking site?

3. Inflating returns with deposits

  • Deposit after a loss and the balance chart looks like it recovered.
  • Check: look at return excluding deposits and withdrawals (time-weighted return). EADesk live links calculate it this way.

4. Showing a short window

  • Cutting out a lucky three months.
  • Check: ask for the full record from the account's first day. Be wary of charts that start mid-way.

5. Showing balance only

  • If losing positions are never closed, balance keeps climbing.
  • Check: look at equity and current open positions together.

6. Screenshots

  • Editing an image takes minutes. A screenshot is a reference, not proof.
  • Check: ask for a link that updates live.

7. Extreme leverage

  • +300% in a short run on 1:1000 leverage and big lots can become −100% next month.
  • Check: look at the leverage and average lot size relative to account size.
EADesk Verified live links have the MT5 reporter send account type, equity, open positions and deposits every minute, exactly as they are. The point is that the operator can't pick what gets shown.
